Conscious Yoga Flow
with James De Maria
Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga with James DeMaria
James’ classes invite you to new places both physically and mentally. With a background as a dance choreographer and performer, he weaves together different styles of yoga into a fluid flow of postures, breath and movement. Drawing on elements of dance, Pilates and Release Technique, his teaching creates a balanced and accessible practice for all levels.
Pranayama, mudras and bandhas are also given focus, adding depth and awareness. Despite the strength of his work, James brings a lightness and gentleness that encourages you to carry these qualities into daily life and to release old patterns and tensions. James’ retreats would suit anyone who enjoys movement and flow, from beginners to experienced practitioners. His background in dance makes his teaching especially appealing if you are curious about exploring the fluidity between postures, breath and body awareness. This retreat is also well-suited if you are looking to build strength while maintaining softness, or if you want to release old patterns and carry a sense of lightness into daily life.

Your Teachers & Therapists
James De Maria
Yoga TeacherOne of Ibiza’s most respected teachers, James has been guiding adults and children for more than 20 years. His classes feel fluid and grounded, with a quiet confidence that comes from long experience.
James trained as a professional dancer at the Central School of Ballet and completed his diploma at London Contemporary Dance School. He deepened his understanding of Release Technique with the Siobhan Davies Dance Company under Larron Potter, Gill Clarke and Paul Douglas, and studied Pilates with Alan Herdman. That movement lineage sits at the heart of how he teaches today.
Drawing on dance, Pilates and Release Technique, James breaks down the space between posture, breath and movement so practice becomes a continuous, easeful flow. Sessions include pranayama, mudra, relaxation and simple meditation. You’ll be guided to work to your ability, build strength and mobility, and leave feeling clear and steady.
What you’ll experience with James:
- Breath-led sequences with smooth, intelligent transitions
- Gentle alignment cues from a dancer’s eye
- Pilates-informed core work for stability
- Pranayama, mudra and restorative rest to close.

He returned to India many more times to continue specialising in Ayurvedic massage and for additional yoga training.
His love of bodywork led him to later study different massage techniques across the world including Chuaka and Body Harmony in Santiago (Chile), Sports Massage in Atlanta (USA), Traditional Thai and Thai Oil Massage in Chiang Mai (Thailand).
With this extensive background, Boris has developed his own intuitive massage technique which unlocks one’s energies through a physical therapy acting on the skeletal structure, muscle and tissue. The result is to liberate fears and burdens that are held inside the physical body, allowing it to recover its natural flexibility and resulting in pain relief and relaxation.
